I’m back. *awaits thunderous applause*  Let’s move on.

This post is long overdue. About a month ago I stumbled across something both disturbing and truly amazing. I have a particular fondness for any form of expression that has real emotion attached to it. I’ll dispense with the formalities and copy/paste the testimonial I just posted on flickr.

“We’ll never be perfect.

Jen’s work effortlessly demonstrates this inescapable reality with brutal elegance.
She throws sex and violence in a blender, crushing passion and pain into a white hot cocktail.
Raw and real, her art crosses boundaries, that exist in our mind, to reveal something just beneath the surface.
Something beautifully twisted and unabashedly flawed.
Jen Villota is unadulterated inspiration.
A modern muse for the masses.”

Intrigued? You damn well better be.

Go see her work.  That’s not a request.

Jenn Villota,

you wear your ruins well.
