This blog started with little direction other than a reworked (yet unoriginal) concept. Writing from the perspective of a Tyler Durdenesque character is nothing new, but it’s outside the norm in the SL blogesphere. While over the top cynicism, and tongue in cheek humor is something I enjoy, upon further analysis some TIYSL content has taken a far easier shock and awe path. My subconscious justification possibly being that while some might be offended, most would be entertained, and no one would ever really get a look inside my world. Feedback would suggest it has been fairly effective, at least, in those regards.
Nevertheless it’s become increasingly apparent that this needs to be something else if i’m going to stay true to myself, in any life. If everything I posted here was canon I wouldn’t feel the need to qualify the content to strangers. On more than one occasion, when ask about the blog, i’ve referred to it as “an amped up version of me.” While a persona provides emotional shelter it also carries certain constraints and implications. I’m “amped up” enough, without any flourishes, hence the following clarifications.
I am a cynic, a critic, and an asshole, when warranted. (see in-world RP limits)
I’m not cruel for the sake of it. (6 months in-world still makes you a WTFug candidate)
I am a flirt, and talk mad smack. I’ll give back what i’m given, every time.
I’m not a womanizing chauvinist. I might be ˚That Guy˚ but I’m not “that” guy.
For the record, I have no intention of sharing what being ˚That Guy˚ means.
This fish needs a different, less crowded, bowl. Let’s try this again… with fresh water.
